AustCycle was founded in 2008 and is currently a joint venture between Cycling Australia and the Amy Gillett Foundation.

AustCycle gratefully acknowledges support from the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (NSW) and the Australian Government Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.

AustCycle is currently funded by the Australian Government as part of its Healthy Communities Initiative (HCI). The HCI aims to help reduce the prevalence of obesity across Australian communities by maximising the number of adults engaged in physical activity and healthy eating programs.
