If you do nothing during your visit to our web site but browse, read pages, or download information, we will gather and store certain information about your visit. This information does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store the following information about your visit:
- The Internet Protocol Address and domain name used. The Internet Protocol address is a numerical identifier assigned either to your Internet Service Provider or directly to your computer. We use the Internet Protocol Address to direct Internet traffic to you. This address can be translated to determine the domain name of your service provider (e.g. xcompany.com or yourschool.edu)
- The type of browser and operating system you used
- The date and time you visited this site
- The web pages or services you accessed at this site and
- The web site you visited prior to coming to this web site.
2. Purpose for collecting this information and use of information
For site management purposes, information is collected for statistical purposes. AustCycle's Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.
AustCycle may analyse the web logs to continually improve the value of the services available on our site. Our web site logs are not personally identifiable, and we make no attempt to link them with any individual or organisation.
3. Personal information
Personal information means information or an opinion (including information or an opinion forming part of a database), whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion. Personal information includes such things as an individual's name, address, and phone number. A domain name or Internet Protocol address is not considered personal information.
We collect no personal information about you unless you voluntarily participate in an activity that asks for information (e.g. sending an email or participating in a survey).
If you choose not to participate in these activities, your choice will in no way affect your ability to use any other feature of AustCycle's web site.
If you volunteer personal information, your details will only be used for the purpose for which you provided them and will not be added to any mailing list unless you ask for this to be done or this was the specified purpose for the collection of your personal information.
We will not use your details for any other purpose, and will not disclose them to other persons or organisations without your consent.
4. Access and correction of personal information
You can review any personal information we collect about you. You may recommend changes to your personal information you believe in error by submitting a written request that credibly shows the error.

Applets are tools downloaded to your computer to work with the software you have. Applets are intended to enhance your browsing experience by enabling you to view information in a unique manner or enable access to information that your computer would otherwise be unable to access without the applet. AustCycle does not currently use applets. If the decision is made to utilise applets users of AustCycle's web site would not be required to use them.
